Services · Parent Orientation

For the questions parenting books don't quite answer.

Who this is for

Parent orientation is guidance for parents and caregivers about their child or adolescent. The focus is the parenting relationship: understanding what your child needs, responding to difficult moments more effectively, building practical strategies, improving communication at home and supporting your child's emotional development with professional guidance. Your child does not have to be in therapy for you to come. If what you need is support for your own anxiety, low mood, relationships or personal challenges, that is individual therapy for adults, and it is a different service.

What we can help with

You don't have to fit any of these exactly. They're here so you can recognize something familiar.

  • Understanding your child's emotional or behavioural needs
  • Meltdowns, refusal and behaviour that is hard to respond to
  • Understanding a diagnosis: ADHD, autism, ODD, OCD
  • Helping a child manage big emotions without losing your own footing
  • Getting both parents and other caregivers on the same page
  • Co-parenting after separation
  • Sibling conflict and family dynamics
  • Advocating for your child at school and with other providers
  • Raising children between two cultures and two languages
  • Pregnancy, postpartum and adjusting to a new family shape

How we help

The approaches our clinicians draw on, in plain language. Your therapist will explain what makes sense for you and why.

Parental guidance sessions

Structured meetings focused on a specific situation at home. You leave with something concrete to try, and we review together how it went.

Strategies based on Applied Behaviour AnalysisABA

Well-researched tools for understanding why a behaviour keeps happening and how to respond consistently, translated into ordinary, warm parenting rather than a rigid programme.

Emotion coaching and co-regulation

How to stay steady when your child isn't, so they gradually borrow your calm and build their own.

Family-systems work

Looks at roles, routines and patterns across the household, so change doesn't rest on one person alone.

Who you'd be working with

Availability and areas of work come from each clinician's own profile.
